About Me

The Snowflake Mill Quilt Shop is situated approximately 3 miles south of the university town of Slippery Rock in the country.

It is located on the banks of Slippery Rock Creek, in a 218 year old traditional simple white Pennsylvania farm house.  The original mill is long gone, but the property with all it's memories and history remain.

The mill received its name from the grain that was produced in this area. Folklore has it, that the grain that was milled, was as white as a snowflake, thus the name of the mill.

The name of the shop honors the legacy of the early settlers and keeps traditions alive.

As you can see, quilting is my passion!  I was previously employed in the corporate world for over 25 years. I left and persued my desires and dreams.

Little did my grandmother realize that when she taught me how to sew, at the age of 4, on her Singer 66, that I would take those skills to new levels. And yes, I do have her sewing machine!!

My grandmother made exactly 3 bed sized quilts in her life. Two of them were needle-turn applique and the other was a whole cloth embroidery. All 3 are cherished memories that I will pass down to my children.
